Make-Me-Up-Monday: Colorful Bridesmaids

The more color the merrier!

Weddings aren’t all white anymore, splashes of color are leaving their brightly colored mark and leaving us with smiles on our faces. Pink, blue, fuchsia, red orange, and purple are just some of the hair dyes seen recently on the heads of daring, avant-garde girls who aren’t afraid of color. So what happens when one of these girls is one of your bridesmaids and she decides to dye her hair a loud color right before your wedding?… Just go with it!

When someone with brightly colored hair walks into the room it feels like that moment in The Wizard of Oz when it goes from black and white to color and you’re like “whooaah…” It’s fun and it will no doubt leave you with a happy feeling. Proof is in Elsie’s (from A Beautiful Mess) wedding where her bridesmaids rocked colorful do’s (above photo), styled in 60’s beehives nonetheless!

Keep the dresses a neutral color like taupe, grey, black or muted peach to keep the focus on the color. Express yourself with color and capture the personality of each of your maids to make your wedding truly epic!

Make-Me-Up-Monday: Surf Spray How-To

Happy Monday!

This sunny Monday we’re bringing you a fun and easy hair how-to!

We all love that textured look our hair gets after swimming in the ocean and spending time laying out on the sand, right? Disheveled, free-spirited, our hair takes it’s natural texture, its fun and liberating. Well, after a few dashes of this and a dollop of that, you’ll have your own DIY surf spray. This fun way to wear your hair will undoubtable come in handy this Summer or on that upcoming honeymoon.

 What You’ll Need:

Empty 8 oz. (or larger) spray bottle

Measuring cup/teaspoon

Sea Salt

Coconut Oil

Hair Gel

1. Fill spray bottle with 8 Oz. of luke warm Water.

2. Add 1 tsp Sea Salt to water

3. Add 1/2 tsp. Coconut Oil

4. Add about a nickel-sized dollop of Hair Gel

Put cap on the bottle and shake really well.

Spray onto hair starting at ends and working your way up. As you do so, scrunch hair up towards the roots to create waves.

Let air dry.

*If your hair has a tough time creating waves on its own, apply the spray, scrunch and then create two braids, one on either side of your head. After your hair has air dried, take the braids out and finger comb.

That’s it!

Make-Me-Up-Monday: Custom Lashes

Did you know that every makeup service with Nicole DeAnne & Associates comes with your very own fully customized individual false lashes application?

Because it does!

We love customizing a full or partial lash application that is designed to enhance your specific eye shape, makeup look and capture beautifully in photographs. Lashes, being the final touch of a beauty look, make all the difference! Individual lashes have the capability of sitting comfortably on the lash line, with out pinching, lifting or looking stiff. This means you can bat those lashes all night with out even realizing that they’re there. Once you’ve experienced the comfort and glamour of a custom set of falsies you’ll wonder how you ever went with out wearing them before!

We look forward to dolling you up, to the very last detail!

Make-Me-Up-Monday: More Braids Please

Hello lovely brides-to-be and fellow beauty enthusiasts!

We’re back this wedding season with lots more hair and makeup inspiration. By far, the number one request for hair styles this season is braids. And what better way to add texture, right? Braids can be elegant, fun and messy but also chic and romantic. Read on for more inspiration and looks that’ll light a spark for wedding day hair ideas!

Kate Middleton stole the show with her elegantly braided updo. It complimented her lace-y flowing gown by adding texture and beautiful contrast against smooth strands. A bit of volume in the front and crown bring loosen up this hair style so instead of seeming uptight, it’s soft and dreamy. The sides are French braided then crossed and interwoven in the back to anchor a low-slung textured bun. She’s setting the standard for brides world wide!

Whether your wedding style is modern beach chic (far left), rustic romantic (middle) or vintage classic (far right) braids can make your wedding day hair style memorable. Lots of brides and bridesmaids are loving this look, they realize it adds volume, depth and takes a basic updo to a whole other level. Braids together with curls make fine hair look full and voluminous and are the perfect canvas to create a piece of art in already thick hair. Braids can also really bring out hair color (cut makes a big difference too!), plan ahead to have your hair colored or highlighted to maximize this style.

Thanks for stopping by, happy Monday!

Married at Korakia Pensione: Alicia & Dylan

Alicia and Dylan’s bohemian wedding took place at the rustic Moroccan-inspired Korakia Pensione, a beautiful outdoor venue in Palm Springs. The bridal party was dressed in mint and mauve dresses with custom touches for each girl, like a shawl or gloves. Alicia dressed up her gown with a long-sleeve lace bolero and a thin glitter belt. To accessorize she wore dangling gold earrings and an embellished stretch headband to compliment her sleek and simple updo. The bridesmaids had an eclectic flare wearing a variety of styled braids. Their beauty looks had a 60’s influence with feminine romantic softness. These hair and makeup looks are classic but with a fun edge as well.

It’s great to see each person’s personality shine through, that’s why we love to customize looks for each girl. It makes the day that much more special for everyone involved. Your bridal party gets to feel pampered and pretty too!

Make-Me-Up-Monday | Celebrity Bridal Series: Ivanka Trump

Ivanka Trump was a classic, sophisticated, and elegant bride in her yards of lace, white flowers and classic beauty look.  A neutral makeup palette of rich browns with a touch of warm golden peach created an effortless glow with emphasis on eyes and beautiful skin.

It’s important to look and feel like yourself on your wedding day, stick to colors you would normally wear just amped up to show off your features. The same goes for hair, pick a hair style that is classic and still very much you. Ivanka’s hair is sleek, smooth and understated yet glamorous. You want to look back at your pictures and be glad you look like the most beautiful version of you and not what was trending at the moment. Make sure to have a trial run so that you can try on different hair and makeup styles. We love getting to know our brides-to-be at trials and helping you find your most perfect look.

Married at the Sea Cliff Country Club | Huntington Beach, CA: Hannah & Derrick

Hannah and Derrick held their romantic ceremony and reception at the scenic Sea Cliff Country Club in Huntington Beach. The soft color palette of grey, white and pastels created the perfect backdrop for such a beautiful occasion.

Hannah was such a wonderful bride to work with, we had such a great time helping her and her bridal party get all dolled up. For her hair, Hannah wanted a softly textured side-chignon that would compliment her chic hair floral piece. A neutral makeup palette and focus on her porcelain skin was all it took to enhance her beauty.

It’s truly rewarding to be a part of a bride’s day, we’re always so happy and excited to see the finished product of something that took lots of work and love to make come true.

Thanks Hannah and Derrick for letting us be a part of your day!
