It’s purposely an undone, almost unfinished look with a down-to-earth, indie-bohemian edge. It can help dress down an over-the-top dress or statement lip quite nicely.

Absolutely not.
Looks tacky and undone in a bad way.
I also think it doesn’t look professional. There are many ways to achieve an undone but done look without having your hardware show.
